FAQ
Unsure about physiotherapy? Here you can find some answers to help you on the right path.
About me
I was born and raised on Vancouver island, a very active kid playing soccer and track and field. I knew I wanted to be a physio when I was 15 years old so after high school I moved to London, UK to go straight into a physiotherapy program and graduated with my degree in 2017.

Since coming back to Canada I've been working in the private practice sector working with a huge variety of clients in different settings before coming to Squamish in 2022 and specializing in the foot and ankle.

When I'm not working I make the most out of living in paradise, I love being outside as much as possible. You'll find me trail running, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, snowboarding or just cruising around with my 2 dogs.
My approach
Like many of you in the Sea to Sky, I’m a weekend warrior, I have a sport for each of the seasons and have had the joys of injury. Having experienced injury myself it gives me insight, a bit of relatability, and it has also moulded my approach. I aim to treat my clients the way I want to be treated, giving the information I would want to be told as a patient and thinking “if I had this injury what would I do for myself”. For myself I want a realistic, fast and simple way to get back on or stay on my snowboard, bike or the trails, but I also want to make sure I don’t have issues in the future, that it won’t affect other parts of my body and I really want to make sure I don't do it again. I treat your injury or concern as if it’s my own.

I treat a huge variety of injuries, conditions and concerns from a sore neck due to sitting for work to traumatic sporting injuries like fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries. My special interests and training specialize me in running based injuries as well as injuries of the foot / ankle. We point so much blame towards the hips but what about its partner in crime, the foot?

Lets talk about your feet
We all know deep down that our feet really matter but we don't tend to give enough attention to them. Feet are the first responder for our balance, for our bodies response to the ground, they're the first place our body absorbs impact and they decide where that impact goes. Muscles in our feet and ankles mirror the functions of muscles around our hip and they work together to control the knee and entire leg
In my practice I find that clients generally have really poor control and strength of their foot. If we have poor control in our foot then we may end up having to use other areas (such as our hips) to compensate. If we never address our imbalances and poor mechanics of the foot then we can chronically over load areas of our body and enter the cycle of recurring tension and pain and repeat visits to my table. Those recurring low back / SIJ issues, hip issues, knee issues and ankle sprains could be coming from lower down the chain, foot and ankle rehab could be the missing link you need to level up or just stay healthy.
